Welcome
Being a partner in Brinklow Boat Services I work alongside Simon Wain, and between us we are responsible for the steelwork produced by our yard in Brinklow. This includes repair and restoration work as well as building new boats, typically some of the most accurate copies of old boats of various types with a painstaking attention to detail and finished to the highest standard.
We are both lifelong canal enthusiasts and we both spent several years boating for a living prior to turning to boat building some twenty five years ago. I feel that our enthusiasm for boats and our experience in boating gives us a far deeper understanding of the boats that we now build and restore.
Whilst we are happy to undertake all aspects of steelwork, large or small, it is our new boats and restoration work that we are particularly proud of.

Steel WorkAs well as our new boats and restoration work we also do alterations and repair work – lengthening, new cabins and often overplating boats. Most insurance companies consider 4mm to be the minimum acceptable hull thickness for comprehensive cover. If you have been declined insurance because of hull thickness then we can help.
Surveys, Sterngear and RepairsWith our floating drydock we can also arrange surveys, refurbish sterngear, do any minor plating repairs, change anodes, and hull blacking.
